I want to give props to Jamie, The Very Worst Missionary for the title of this post. Check out her list of not-resolutions at http://www.theveryworstmissionary.com/2011/01/this-is-not-list-of-resolutions.html.

I am making resolutions this year. I normally don’t make resolutions because I tend to fail at keeping my resolutions. I think it ironic that I try and generally succeed at keeping my word and promises to others. But fail at keeping promises to myself and God.

If I had the answer, I would be a millionaire, selling the answer. But I’m not going to worry about the fact that I failed before. I’m moving forward. I’m recovering the dream. I’m reflecting on the past, working to be faithful in the little things.

From new blog friends (that’s Mary Kathryn and Leigh), I was inspired to set for myself a birthday bucket list: 36 things before 37. I chose achievable, practical things that I wanted to do. Thus I have already established details to distill my resolutions.

The BIG resolution I have is a photo project, taking a picture a day for the next year. For the images, check out http://dougmullin.net/photo365/.

Have you set resolutions? Or Certain hopes for the coming year?
